WIP: As-We-Go Stripey Blanket

My family is really into yard sales. We go yard sale-ing almost every weekend during the summer. A couple weeks ago, I wasn’t feeling well, so my partner went without me. Then I got the call. “You have to come to this yard sale.” So I did. And I met a lovely lady in her 80s who was downsizing her yarn collection. I pulled up to her house and saw her crocheting on her porch, surrounded by flowers. We had a nice chat about our projects. She crochets prayer shawls for a local church. I ended up purchasing an entire tote full of unused skeins of Red Heart Super Saver yarn. The colors weren’t what I would normally gravitate toward, but the price was right. This project will be the home for that yarn.

I just finished row 18 on the As-We-Go Stripey Blanket. I love mixing colors that don’t necessarily go together. I feel like it’s perfect for patterns like this that feel random and mismatched.

I found a completed version of this blanket on Pinterest, which lead me to the pattern on Not Your Average Crochet.
